Go make some friends!
Hey guys. I know that a lot of you are pretty adamant about learning French and assimilating the culture and possibly visiting France at one point or another.
I'm sure many of you have done this already but have you guys considered getting some pen-pals and making some friends over there? for the sake of trying to get a little heads up on daily life and possibly have a friend in France (or where ever) to meet and travel with? I recently made a few friends in Japan, myself, actually (sorry Frenchies).  I think you'd be surprised how easy it is and how many people are actually looking into this thing. I was able to contact some people after just a few minutes and there are a whole bunch of sites that you can visit to get started. Just Google the crap! If you want to make friends while learning their language, try MyHappyPlanet. I made a friend from Paris that I communicate with pretty frequently, so that's fun. I also think it'd be fun to use "couch surfing" as a traveling resource one day, if I had any money to actually travel, that is.
