Welcome and bienvenidos to the Alizée America Podcast, dedicated to the one and only, Alizée.

You can find us online at alizeeamerica.com/podcast and iTunes.

Hello there and happy summer everyone. As always, I’m your host Ciara and thanks for listening to the 7th episode of the Alizée America Podcast…and the thing I want to say first off, is that in the last podcast I realized that I pretty much told you my full name, which is a no-no on the internet, so if my identity gets stolen anytime soon, I’m blaming Alizée fans. Anyway, I hope you’re all enjoying the summer if you’re on vacation from school, or traveling, or living in a hole or whatever it is you’re doing for the next couple months. If you’re a teenager and you’re just inside and on your computer all the time, my advice to you this summer is: more UV less PC, or PCP if you have a problem with that as well, but that’s another podcast. Anyway, go ride a bike, make some real friends, not just internet ones, even though we’re all cool people here, and quit playing first person shooter games and go climb a tree…and then hug it. If you’re an adult and have to work all the time, well try to go outside and get some fresh air too, or at least drive with the windows down instead of using the A.C… save some gas and feel the breeze. I guess I’m just in a eco-friendly kind of mood as of late, except I don’t even have A.C. in my car so turning it on’s not even an option. I was kidding about hugging the tree, though, I’m not THAT eco-friendly, or that FRIENDLY, so just give it a high-five maybe.

This episode of the Alizee America Podcast is going to be a little different than the others we’ve had so far with all that’s been going on in Lilly Town. As we all know Alizee has been in Mexico the last week for her Psychédélices Tour. Psychédélices, I just, I love to say that. Psychédélices .Which is crazy for us Americans, b/c she’s like right there, just out of reach. But not to all of us, but I’ll get to that in a second. To start off, I have a few announcements in “Le Mot de Moi” so pay attention to those please; I won’t be rambling about personal stuff this time...that’ll be a nice break for you I’m sure. Then, and this is the special part, in “LiliNews”, Snatcher42 will be giving us his personal account of the Psychédélices Tour because he was there! In Mexico! It’s a little lengthy, probably shorter than Roman’s interview though, but this will be the bulk of the podcast this week. This is his first-hand account of seeing Alizée live on multiple occasions and you will not want to miss this, it’s just great and after hearing it I’m so jealous, and also thrilled that he and so many other forum members had this experience. I’m not doing an interview this week, and instead I’m just gonna play some sound clips and what not afterward, because nothing I could speculate or mention just from reading about these concerts will be anything worth saying compared to what Ben shares with us. So stick around for “Le Mot de Moi.”

“Le Mot de Moi”

The first announcement is that Brad informed me that there are about 170 subscribers on iTunes compared to the almost 3,000 people who listen to the podcast via the website. Both of those numbers are insane to me and more than I would ever have thought possible, but it would be really cool if we could get more of you who listen on the website to also subscribe on iTunes. I did and like I’ve mentioned before, I don’t even really listen to these after I make them, but I’m happy to be one more subscriber to get the popularity up. I don’t even have an iPod or MP3 player of any sort, so if you don’t, that shouldn’t be a big deal if you’re not going to listen to it that way. If you DO have an MP3 player and haven’t subscribed yet, then what are you waiting for?! Take the podcast on the go! If you just don’t want to mess with the program, well, I installed it twice now, because my computer crashed today, and think it’s pretty neat, especially since you have access to the iTunes Store and can search for all sorts of music, movies, audio books, podcasts, you name it. I’m not even a Mac person. In any case, we would LOVE to get this more popular on iTunes and hope to maybe one day be featured on their music podcast section. I don’t know what that’ll take, but it won’t be possible unless everyone helps out. This is one of Brad’s dreams, you guys, so help a brother out and subscribe…if not for the podcasts, if not for Alizée, then do it for him as he does so much for all of us.

The second announcement, which I posted about in the General Podcast Discussion thread earlier this week, is that Brad has set up something awesome for us which is a voicemail account so you guys can now call in with listener questions, make dedications to Alizée, or just give some listener feedback, whatever…sing a little song or a drunk dial if you want (but only for you older kids). I think this will be a great chance to make the podcast more interactive and is a way for everyone to be involved if you so choose. If you’re shy and don’t want to say who you are or anything in your message, no problem, but this at least gets your message out there in the Alizée community and who knows, maybe Alizée will listen and she’ll hear what you have to say straight from your own lips. So if you want to leave a voicemail this information is now on the Podcast page on the website. By phone, call 424-704-5060. That’s right, 5060. Brad said he had to search for an area code with that number and that this one is from Compton. Wonder if she has any fans there. Also, if you have a Skype account, like me, search for and contact alizeeamerica (all one word, no accents) and send a voicemail that way. If you use Skype you won’t be charged with long distance, or if you use a cell phone to call, at least from the States, that’s probably not an issue anyway. Any international people probably want to go with Skype which is free to download. Brad also put a little linky-link on that page so check that out. So start calling in and leaving voicemails, people. I’ll try to announce on the forums if I want to hear anything specific for a certain podcast, so be on the lookout. But if your excuse for not wanting to call in is that you don’t like how your voice sounds recorded, well, I’m the epitome of that, and look at me, so suck it up.

Finally, I have a little contest/project for some of you musically inclined listeners. To also make the podcasts a little more of a group effort, I’m inviting all musicians to submit music to me that could possibly be used for the intro/outro music and all the segment music throughout the podcast. I think the song currently used for the intro fits, but if I hear something else I like, I may consider changing it. The only requirements I have are that they are fairly upbeat, sort of similar to what I already have, that the intro/outro be around 45 seconds to a minute, it does not have to include singing unless you just have some awesome lyrics and a good voice, and that the segment music, maybe 4 or 5 different kinds, be about 15 seconds long. Hopefully some of you will want to be part of this, and if I get enough submissions I’ll more than likely use more than one person’s if I like how they sound. I’d really like to hear what you guys can come up with, and if you have any questions, just send me, ciarac77, a private message.

Now it’s time for Snatcher42 to tell us all about how he got to see Alizée in concert in Mexico in this special edition of “LiliNews.”

Wow, absolutely amazing story. Thank you so much for sharing that with us, Snatcher. I hope everybody else enjoyed it as much as I did, because I really felt like I was there for some of that. And to keep that feeling going, let us now listen to a recording from one of those concerts, and it starts off, like was mentioned, with her asking the crowd to hold up their illuminated cell phones. Here is Alizée singing beautifully, “The Sound of Silence.”

“The Sound of Silence”

I think it’s safe to say the concerts in Mexico went very well, and hopefully by the time Alizée starts performing in Europe the crowds there will be just as big and full of devoted fans.

Like I mentioned in “Le Mot de Moi” we now have the option for voicemail, and I asked you guys to call in but seriously, guys, I was very disappointed with how many I did NOT receive. So, here’s what we did get.

Caller: Hi Ciara, it’s your mom. Just calling to tell you that I love you and I think you’re doing a great job on the podcast.

Um, thanks you, Mom.

Caller: (laughter) Hi Auntie Ciara, how are you doing on your podnast? Alright, I need to go now; my mom wants me to read a book.

That was my 4-year-old niece Bridget and yes, she did say podnast. But apparently she did NOT have to go read a book, but she’s started coming up with phrases like that to get off the phone like adults do. What a cute little liar-face.

Caller: Mmm, yeah. I just couldn’t pass up the irony of calling this. Like you guys haven’t heard enough of my voice already this week. Yup, bye.

What up, Snatcher!

Well, it’s a start I guess, so thank you Mom, Bridgie, and Snatcher42 for your voicemails. But I expect more in the future.

That’s gonna wrap it up for this episode of the Alizée America Podcast. Congratulations to Team Alizée for giving us fans such wonderful performances even if we weren’t there. I’d like to welcome our newest member, cruzarcos, bienvenue to you and all the other new members since the last podcast. Thanks to Brad for hosting the show at Alizée America and to Ben for sharing with us his amazing experience. You can find the music used in this podcast by the Sinistrals and the Stephen Davis Project at PodSafeAudio.com. Thanks so much for listening and have a Youpidou day.
