Is Mylene crazy???
I don't live in France, nor am I centered around French media - so I ask: what's Mylene Farmer's deal???
She's a bit creepy but seems so fun and delightful - and then I hear that "c'est une belle journee" was really supposed to be "c'est une belle journee, je vais me tuer" which means "it's a beautiful day - i'm going to kill myself" but then changed to "je vais me coucher (i'm going to bed).". I just don't get it. Whats the deal with her? Normally people as complex and spooky like that have some big family secret - like she was an orphan or abused or something. You know what - it wouldn't surprise me if Mylene turned out to be God. Like if i'd die now, she'd be like "you see, it's me who was god all along" and i wouldn't be the least surprised. Oh well - if she was god she'd prob get more record sales in the US lol So anyway - French people (or people who know alot about Mylene) - what's her big secret? Whats up with her???

I think you're looking into it too much. Its pretty obvious in most of her songs, that she was abused in some way. If you read the lyrics to Optimistique Moi, it is obvious shes talking about child molestation. Also, she didn't have a great relationship with her mother, listen to Maman à Tort. I don't think shes crazy, I just think she plays more on her dark side. People can be happy in life, but still feel...damaged, hurt. Celebrities market themselves a certain way. The way she likes to express herself in music, the majority of the time, is her less optimistic side.

Writing creepy lyrics is usually used to grab attention as others said, it sometimes dosen't mean the singer had a weird childhood. A lot of metal bands have really sick and/or perverted lyrics that you would think only a true psycho could think of, but people just pay attention to violent or weird lyrics.

Mylene is not crazy at all. she just has her image like this, she is very original and mysterious, and "i am goinf to kill myslef" in her lyrics it probably wouldn't be literally meaning a suicide, i think it is more mind thing. and since she was seeing the death all her life (a cemetary with her grandmother, her brother's death, the fan, who killed hisself and her secretary because of her) i think it gives her some feelings like that. and i am sure that she cherishes the life because also she is very sensitive and cheerful and kind person at the same time. she is unique, and being unique doesn't mean being crazy!
