If Alizée sells 500,000 CD's these 20,000 Special Edition's are just 4% of the sales.

On December 3rd they may become as rare as getting Hanna Montana concert tickets at face value.
What limited edition are you talking about? That sounds like a pretty good investment! 20,000 of anything, especially Alizee stuff, isn't a lot!

So far I've spent about $335 on the album: two of each cd from Fnac, two LPs from alapage, and one of each from amazon.co.uk. If she's making an in-store apperance in Paris on or around the third, I'll spend a further thousand or so to go there and buy a few more copies.

But then again I'm crazy.

Isn't the 'Limited Edition' CD the issue with the added DVD?

That's something like Shakira's 'Limited Edition' of Laundry Service: Washed and Dried.' Some are still in the $ 45.00 range, yet I've seen some recently going for $ 78.00. They get rare in an awful hurry those limited editions; like a collectors' item.
20,000 isn't much is right. Generally, Ballantine Books publishes each new novel they put out in the same quantity, 20,000. Rare they put out a second edition as well. After that, if one wants a copy, it's like go through the used books stores.

Two things: 1) I so wish I had the cash to do that, 2) I hope the Metro, trains, and busses in France are running again by then .

Of course, this is but amazon.com, but a recent check has it:

'Alizee en concert' German/International DVD = new @ $ 62.38 and a used one going for $ 73.40.

Another, an audio CD-single L'Alize @ $ 49.54.
And J'Ai Pas Vingt Ans, CD, I think it's a single, going for $ 60.00

Somebody's avid collection could very well be a bit pricey in coming years. Depending, of course.

I guess I can answer my own question. Cette édition est limitée, CD+DVD. Not a bad price either: 16,98 EUR on amazon.fr.

With the help of a co-worker that speaks French, I just ordered the limted Edition CD! I could have never gotten through it on Amazon.fr without her help.

I just opened a second window and go to Babel Fish for translation help.
You just have to do a lot of copy and paste action. This way you just have to click between the windows. The second time through yesterday
I did the order in under 5 minutes. First time was more like 15 minutes making sure I had ordered everything correctly.

R.I.P. Nightwish without Tarja. I bought that CD also and to me they slipped from one of the best bands of our time to complete mediocrity.

But anyway, 45$ is about what I paid also. I'm not really a collector like Cooney and RMJ but I did order 2 of the limited, one to keep sealed and the other to enjoy. It's well worth the money to me.
