Maybe. I was thinking more of her superstition. Black cats are one of the most notorious superstitious icons. (At least here in America..not sure about the rest of the world)

But I can't really see that being right either because a Black Cat crossing symbolizes bad luck..and I can't see her wanting that.

She has stated that she's superstitious about black cats, and "makes horns" (with her fingers) to ward off evil when one crosses her path. She could have it up symbolizing moving beyond her younger days of superstition, or as a symbol of not having fear of what lies ahead. Could be any number of things :-)

One slightly critical note, however, alizée is so beautiful in her natural state, she doesn't need so much make-up.
