I get the feeling he was kind of rolling his eyes sarcastically, like "Gee, she decided these lyrics would be, like,
too vulgar...remember when they were being sung by a 14-year-old girl in a miniskirt? Gee, hmm, I guess the meaning of 'vulgar' has changed over the years..."
BTW what is the pronunciation difference between "chattes" and "chat"? One slightly audible "t"?
